The Friends of the Brentwood Library (FOBL) will be combining its Spring and Summer Book Sales and holding a larger sale June 8th – 10th. The sale will operate from 10am to 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday hours will be from 1pm to 5:30pm. On Sunday, all items are half price.
The June sale is a combination of the organization’s regular Spring and Summer book sales. The Friends are combining these sales due to the renovation of the meeting rooms at The John P. Holt Brentwood Library, which is underway and scheduled to be finished soon.
This sale will include a lot of audio/visual materials – DVD movies, Audio Books, and Music. The sale will also offer a nice collection of old books – individually priced from $2.00 to $75.00.
FOBL Book Sale committee chair Cyn Sweet says, “This is a great place for bargains. Most of our books are donated and in great shape. Except for a few specialty items, prices are $3.00 and under.”
The library accepts donations of books, CDs, DVDs, books on tape, vinyl, puzzles and games throughout the year. To make a donation of items, simply drop them off at the check out counter at the library during regular library hours. Those with a large donation can call ahead of time and arrange for someone to help unload at the back door with a cart. All items donated to the Library are either kept for the library collection or sold in the sales held by the FOBL. FOBL also maintains an Amazon site at www.amazon.com/shops/friendsbooksters.
The Friends of the Brentwood Library is a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing our community library. Past funding initiatives include on site training and conference scholarships for staff, technology equipment for library patrons and art and showcase displays for the entire community.
The John P. Holt Brentwood Library is located at 8109 Concord Road, Brentwood. Please contact the library at 615-371-0090 to learn more about the week’s activities and to find out how to become a member of the Friends of Brentwood Library.
